Job summary

Metropolitan Community College is seeking an UBMS Tutor - Math to help high school students understand math concepts and build study skills at the Fort Omaha Campus. The role involves guiding students through assignments and applying Office tools to academic work, while navigating MCC systems and software.

Candidates should have an Associate’s degree (in progress or completed) with a 3.25+ GPA and a B or better in math, and must pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of subject matter to be tutored.
• Ability to explain complex subject matter with patience and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other college supported systems.
• Excellent communication skills, including active listening.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well with minimal supervision in a team-oriented environment.

• Ability to work and interact effectively with various cultures and ethnicities.
• Associate’s degree in progress or completed and overall cumulative GPA of 3.25 or better and received a “B” or better in math.
• Must pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with understanding assignments and concepts in a specialized subject area.
• Assist students with academic applications of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Assist students with navigating MCC systems and software.
• Attend work activities or programs as scheduled or assigned.
