Job summary

Haverhill Pavilion Behavioral Health in Massachusetts is seeking a part-time Master Level Group Leader to support activity therapy as part of the patient’s treatment plan. Work hours are 20 hours a week with shifts from 12:00-4:00pm or 10:30am-2:30pm.

The role requires a Master’s degree; an LCSW or LMHC is preferred. CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification are required or provided upon hire, and previous recreation experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s required; LCSW or LMHC preferred.
• Three or more years’ experience in recreation in a healthcare setting.
• Previous experience in recreation in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete activity assessment through observation and interviews for treatment planning.
• Plan, organize, direct and implement activities within the program to support progress.
• Lead activity sessions to improve mental and physical well-being.
• Instruct patients in activities such as sports, dance, music, art or relaxation techniques.
• Develop treatment plans and implement activity interventions aligned with patient goals.
• Engage patients in therapeutic activities and help learn social skills.
