Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Three or more years’ experience in recreation in a healthcare setting required.
• Certification in CTRS or in expressive therapy area or clinical licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Complete activity assessment through patient observation and interviews to inform treatment plan.
• Plan, organize, direct and implement activities to support treatment goals.
• Develop and implement activities including therapeutic leisure skills, education and awareness.
• Lead activity sessions to improve patients’ mental and physical well-being.
• Instruct patients in activities such as sports, dance, music, art or relaxation techniques.
• Develop and implement intervention plans aligned with patient needs and goals.
• Engage patients in therapeutic activities and community outings.
• Foster patient independence and social skills; adapt activities for groups as needed.
• Demonstrate professionalism and address patient concerns with safety as a priority.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
