Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Breast and X-Ray Center seeks a Mammography Technologist to provide high-quality imaging and patient support in a part-time role. You will work within a collaborative care team, applying expertise to ensure accurate exams and compassionate communication with patients.

This position emphasizes safety, adherence to protocols, and ongoing professional development while balancing clinical responsibilities with life outside the hospital.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Certifications: ARRT-R and ARRT-M with BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Experience: minimum 1 year radiologic technologist experience and at least 1 year in mammography in a hospital.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography exams per physician order and protocol with two identifiers.
• Explain the exam to patients using AIDET and gather relevant history.
• Position patients safely and assist with transfers while maintaining privacy and comfort.
• Review images for quality, ensuring first-time acceptance before release.
• Operate equipment safely, optimize dose and technique, and follow infection control guidelines.
• Complete QC tests (ACR/MQSA) and document results and calibration.
• Label, orient, and document images in PACS/RIS and complete daily charge capture.
• Keep the suite clean, stock supplies, and provide pre/post-exam instructions.
• Communicate professionally and support training of new team members.
