Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Breast and X-Ray Center is seeking a part-time Mammography Technologist to provide safe, high-quality imaging while ensuring patient comfort and clear information. The role emphasizes teamwork within a radiology team and adherence to imaging standards.

You will use your mammography experience to perform exams, document QC tests, and collaborate with physicians to support a high standard of patient care.

Qualifications

• Education required as listed: high school diploma or equivalent and accredited radiologic technology program.
• Minimum 1 year radiologic technologist experience and 1 year mammography experience in hospital.
• ARRT-R (Radiography) and ARRT-M (Mammography) certifications, plus BLS.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography exams per physician order and protocol, verifying patient identity with two identifiers.
• Explain the exam and address questions to reduce patient anxiety (AIDET).
• Protect patient privacy and comfort; assist with transfers as needed.
• Review images for quality and completeness; maintain first-time acceptance rate.
• Operate equipment safely, optimize dose, keep area clean per guidelines.
• Document QC tests and ensure images are labeled, oriented, and stored in PACS/RIS.
