Job summary

Apple Federal Credit Union is seeking a part-time Member Services/Generalist in Fairfax, VA, to handle in-person, mail, and phone transactions with a focus on accuracy and customer service.

You will process deposits, payments, and updates while representing the credit union in a courteous, professional manner and adhering to security and policy guidelines. Training and growth opportunities are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months financial institution or cash handling experience is helpful.
• A high school education or GED.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and member/customer service skills.
• Ability to process a high volume of transactions quickly and accurately.
• Excellent math ability and attention to detail.
• The ability to lift 25lbs and utilize standard office equipment including, but not limited to PC, fax, copier, telephone, etc
• Ability to function in a financial institution environment.

Responsibilities

• Gives prompt efficient and accurate service in the processing of mail transactions such as member deposits and loan payments. Responsible for ensuring own checks and the overall branch checks are balanced each day. Researches out of balance conditions and resolves them .
• Processes member deposit transactions through Remote Deposit Capture mobile applications and scanners
• Responds to member correspondence by mail, email, or telephone regarding transactions affecting their accounts
• Updates address information on members’ accounts from USPS returned mail for entire organization. Updates address information in Bill Pay System (CheckFree)
• Stays abreast of and follows all Apple FCU products, services, policies, and procedures. Meets all internal training requirements for this position
• Adheres to Apple FCU Security Policy, CTR and SAR reporting, negotiable items procedures. Refers questionable transactions to the Manager of Document Imaging and Records
• Distributes non-teller mail deliveries to other departments
• Provides back-up to Research and Records Generalists as required
