Job summary

Georgia Department of Public Health—Coastal Health District seeks a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse to support immunization services. You will administer vaccines to patients across the life span and document care per public health protocols.

The role requires an LPN license in Georgia, CPR certification, and completion of orientation for Public Health. This position offers a community-focused environment and essential public health work.

Qualifications

  • Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing.
  • Georgia license to practice as an LPN.
  • CPR certification and orientation/training for Public Health LPN.

Responsibilities

  • Perform job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Administer vaccines and prescribed medications.
  • Coordinate with health care team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate client care plans.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports and client records.
  • Modify client treatment plans as indicated by clients' responses and conditions.
  • Monitor and record all aspects of client care, including diet and physical activity.
  • Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in clients' conditions.
  • Prepare clients for, and assist with, examinations and treatments.
  • Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and ensure stock of supplies is maintained.
  • Provide education to client and family.

All Coastal Health District County Health Department employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event not limited to but including, staffing a shelter, a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or Point of Dispensing site (POD). When you are called on to participate, you are expected and it will be a part of your job requirement to participate, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.

This is a part-time hourly position, not eligible for benefits.

Under direct supervision, provides assistance to Public Health Nurses and county programs.

Work in our Fast Track immunization department. This role is responsible for administering vaccines to patients across the life span and providing appropriate documentation afterwards.

Job Responsibilities

Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college and current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse and CPR certification and completion of all necessary orientation and training for Public Health LPN.
