Job summary

Midland Elementary in Roy, Utah is seeking a PT Literacy Aide to support students in grades K-3 through targeted reading interventions. This role follows a 180-day calendar with 5.75 hours per day, in-person at Midland Elementary.

The Literacy Support Paraprofessional will implement instructional strategies from individualized reading plans, align with the Science of Reading, and assist teachers with updating data and plans to ensure compliance and progress toward grade-level proficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience with literacy instruction or paraprofessional role preferred.
• Knowledge of evidence-based reading strategies encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Lead evidence-based reading interventions aligned with the Science of Reading for students with Reading Plans.
• Collaborate with teachers and literacy coach to deliver interventions with fidelity.
• Assist with literacy building activities and strategies.
• Develop aide schedules with administrators.
• Complete ongoing Science of Reading training to ensure current best practice.
• Monitor and update Individualized Reading Plans with data and progress.
