Job summary

Très L.A. is seeking a skilled, dependable Part-Time Event Line Cook to join our culinary team for catered events at the Pacific Design Center and other event locations in Los Angeles. Shifts are flexible and scheduled in advance, with strong evening and weekend availability essential.

You will prepare and execute menu items, support multiple service styles, maintain quality and timing, and work with event teams to ensure memorable service. Current Food Handler Card is required.

Qualifications

• Prior line cook, banquet cook, catering, or high-volume event culinary experience.
• Able to work a variety of stations and adapt to different menus, venues, and service styles.
• Strong knife skills, organization, sense of urgency, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a fast-paced culinary team.
• Physically active work: stand long hours, lift up to 50 pounds, setup/breakdown.
• Reliable transportation; nights, weekends, and occasional late shifts.

Responsibilities

• Support hot-line, pantry, buffet, action-station, and plated-event service as assigned.
• Maintain quality, presentation, temperature, and timing standards throughout service.
• Set up, stock, break down, clean, and organize assigned kitchen stations.
• Assist with packing, loading, unloading, and transporting culinary equipment and food as needed.
• Work closely with chefs and event teams to ensure smooth, timely service.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company policies.

This role is ideal for experienced cooks looking to pick up high-quality shifts alongside another job or commitment. Shifts are scheduled in advance but vary based on events and business needs, so strong evening and weekend availability is essential.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and execute menu items according to recipes, portion standards, and chef direction
• Support hot-line, pantry, buffet, action-station, and plated-event service as assigned
• Maintain quality, presentation, temperature, and timing standards throughout service
• Set up, stock, break down, clean, and organize assigned kitchen stations
• Assist with packing, loading, unloading, and transporting culinary equipment and food as needed
• Work closely with chefs and event teams to ensure smooth, timely service

What We’re Looking For

• Reliable transportation and availability for nights, weekends, and occasional late shifts—sometimes as late as 1:00 AM
• Flexibility to pick up scheduled shifts as business needs arise
• Current Food Handler Card required
