Job summary

State Center Community College District is seeking a part-time Library Technician to support students, faculty, staff and the public with library resources and services across district sites. You will assist with acquisitions, cataloging, and daily operations, maintaining accurate records and ensuring smooth service at the reference and circulation desks.

The role requires high school graduation and experience in a library setting; an associate degree in library technology is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Basic library practices and terminology.
• General types and uses of library materials and stand references.
• Basic procedures for acquisition and circulation of library materials.
• Public desk etiquette and methods of providing information.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons in identifying and locating materials; help with reference questions.
• Circulate materials; assist with computers, copiers, and other equipment.
• Process new books and materials for circulation; check orders and labels.
