Job summary

Library Systems & Services, LLC. is seeking a Library Associate 2 to support daily circulation, patron services, and materials processing at our library partner.

This entry-level role focuses on customer service at the circulation desk, assisting patrons, checking out materials, and helping users locate resources. The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and the ability to work a schedule that includes days, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Two years library experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of library systems and databases preferred.
• Ability to work a schedule that may include days, evenings and weekends.
• Excellent customer service and strong communication skills.
• English/Spanish speaking is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provides customer service by welcoming and registering patrons, issuing library cards, checking out materials and managing patron accounts.
• Assists patrons with locating materials or the reference desk, using computers, or explaining procedures.
• Checks in and processes library materials as necessary.
• Accepts and processes fines, fees, or other payments.
• Provides information regarding programs, events, conference rooms, etc.
• Mails library materials as necessary for homebound programs.
• Shelves library materials.
• Addresses patron conduct or safety issues to management.
• Follows all legal and policy requirements related to patron privacy and custodianship of records.
