Job summary

Catawba County Library System in Maiden, NC is recruiting a part-time Library Services Specialist II to deliver responsive library services and programs, including story times, STEAM activities, and outreach.

You will work with the Maiden Librarian to plan, promote, and deliver services, including circulation, reference, technology help, and promotional materials. The schedule includes day/evening/Saturday hours, 20 hours per week with prorated benefits (50%).

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to operate various computer programs.
• This position is Medium Work requiring lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to patrons and staff.
• Deliver a full range of library services including reference and technology assistance.
• Plan and facilitate programs for all ages; story times and STEAM activities.
• Support Summer Learning and literacy initiatives.
• Perform circulation tasks including check-ins/outs and holds.
• Coordinate outreach to schools, daycares, and community organizations.
