Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be available to work weekends.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn the Integrated Library System.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Bilingual in Polish, Arabic, or Spanish highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provides consistent, equitable, gracious and friendly service to patrons and staff.
• Greets and gives directions to library patrons.
• Answers telephone courteously and routes calls correctly.
• Charges and discharges library materials in accordance with established policies.
• Issues library cards according to policy and procedures.
• Maintains library patron records.
• Manages fines and fees in integrated library system.
• Communicates library policies and procedures to patrons in an accurate and courteous manner.
• Safeguards patron privacy with discretion.
• Performs clerical duties such as typing and filing.
• Assists patrons with the scanner, fax and copy machine as needed.
• Participates in continuing education opportunities as offered.
• Attends outreach events.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
