Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a capable Cashier/Stocker who can lead in the absence of Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. You will manage plan-o-grams, assist customers, operate the register, stock shelves, and help maintain a clean, secure store environment.

The role requires basic math, cash handling knowledge, and strong customer service skills, with possible supervisory responsibilities and eligibility to handle refunds and store deposits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) is preferred.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Cash handling procedures knowledge and accurate register operations.
• Good interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and plan-o-gram reading.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise according to store procedures.
• Rotate and face merchandise, build displays, and restock returned items.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintain displays.
• Greet customers and assist in locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and process payments, bag merchandise, and provide change.
• Maintain store cleanliness and ensure a safe shopping environment.
• Provide leadership in the absence of store management and handle refunds/overrides.
• Open or close the store under Area Manager direction.
