Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Cashier/Stocker who can lead in the absence of store leadership. You will help with plan-o-grams, merchandise stocking, and delivering outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, scanning items at checkout, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting store operations to protect assets and maximize profitability. This role requires reliable teamwork and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to store process.
• Stock merchandise, rotate and display.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and total customer purchases.
• Maintain a clean, organized store and safe environment.
• Open and/or close the store under direction of the Area Manager.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
