Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a dedicated Cashier/Stocker who can lead in the absence of store management and ensure smooth store operations. You will open and stock shelves, assist with plan-o-grams, and provide exemplary customer service while protecting assets.

You will handle transactions, manage inventory flow, and support a clean, organized, and safe store environment. This role emphasizes teamwork and accountability in a busy retail setting.

Qualifications

• Requires basic math calculations for transactions and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Experience with IBM cash register functions is preferred.
• Familiarity with cash handling policies, safety, and loss prevention.
• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and unpack cartons according to store procedures.
• Stock and rotate merchandise; build displays and face shelves.
• Restock returned merchandise and manage inventory in zones.
• Assist customers in locating items and provide excellent service.
• Operate cash register, handle payments, and bag items.
• Maintain cleanliness at front end and stockroom; support safety.
