Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a dependable Cashier/Stocker who can lead in the absence of store management. You will set up plan-o-grams, stock and face merchandise, provide exemplary customer service, and help maximize store profitability while safeguarding assets.

The role involves unloading trucks, stocking shelves, operating the cash register, and guiding team members to maintain a clean, fast-paced store. Retail experience and strong math skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Ability to operate an IBM cash register and read plan-o-grams.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise; build displays and rotate stock.
• Operate cash register, total purchases and collect payments.
• Assist customers, locate merchandise and maintain clean store surroundings.
• Open/close the store under area manager direction and supervise in absence of management.
• Maintain cashier accountability and adhere to security practices.
