Job summary

YMCA of Greater Seattle is seeking a Kid Zone Lead for on-site, part-time work with shifting hours during our Kid Zone program. You’ll supervise children, plan activities, and support staff and families in a welcoming, inclusive environment.

You will collaborate with a team to deliver safe, enriching experiences, reinforce YMCA values, and coordinate events like Parents Night Outs and family nights. Prior child care experience is preferred, with flexibility for various shifts.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Other applicable education, training, and experience may be considered.
• 1 year or more experience working with children; camps, child care, tutoring, nanny, coaching.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a group of children to ensure health and safety and provide a positive experience for each child.
• Develops and implements program activities.
• Provides guidance, leadership and direction to Kids Zone Counselors as needed.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including medical and disciplinary procedures, abuse prevention and emergency procedures.
• Engages with parents/guardians to share information about their child’s experience and promote upcoming programs.
• Ensures toys and equipment are clean, safe, set up and stored properly; reports problems to supervisor.
• Attends staff meetings and training programs; performs other duties as assigned.
