Job summary

Seattle YMCA is seeking a Kid Zone Lead for an on-site, part-time role. You'll supervise and engage children in drop-in care, create activities, and support staff during after-school and weekend programming.

You'll guide Kid Zone Counselors, partner with parents, and help run events like Parents Night Outs and Family Nights. Shifts vary with operations, including afternoons and weekends, with opportunities to grow within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• 1 year or more experience working with children.
• Ability to model and demonstrate Y values.
• Experience planning group activities preferred.
• Diversity knowledge and language skills may help.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a group of children to ensure health, safety and a positive experience.
• Develops and implements program activities.
• Provides guidance, leadership and direction to Kids Zone Counselors as needed.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including safety and emergency procedures.
• Professionally engages with parents/guardians to share information about their child’s experience.
• Ensures toys and equipment are clean and safe; reports problems to supervisor.
• Attends staff meetings and training programs as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
