Job summary

State of Florida is seeking a Part-time Office Automation Specialist I in Tallahassee to provide technical support and routine hardware/software maintenance within the Criminal Investigations Division.

Responsibilities include setting up equipment, troubleshooting issues, maintaining databases, and assisting with inventory. Applicants must have a high school diploma and a valid Florida driver’s license; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Experience providing technical support to computer users.
  • Experience installing or performing minor repairs on computer hardware, software or peripherals.
  • Valid Driver’s License from the Florida DHSMV by time of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and set up computers, hardware, software, and related equipment for new employees and throughout the Division.
  • Provide on-site and telephone assistance to staff for resolving hardware, software, and communication-related issues.
  • Provide basic technical troubleshooting and support to staff.
  • Assist in analyzing and resolving problems related to the Division’s ACISS case management system.
  • Maintain and update assigned databases to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
  • Assist in maintaining an inventory of all distributed processing hardware, software, and related training materials.
  • Lift, carry, and transport computer equipment up to 30 pounds for inventory and office operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the agency’s technical and administrative operations.
