Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking a part-time IT Helpdesk Assistant in Minneapolis to support end users, troubleshoot Windows and Office issues, and coordinate equipment setup. The role requires in-office presence and is ideal for students pursuing IT studies.

You will collaborate with the IT team to resolve hardware and software problems, assist with upgrades, and help maintain peripherals while traveling as needed. The position offers flexible hours and hands-on learning in a design-focused firm.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an Associate or Bachelor degree program in Information Technology or related field.
• Knowledge of MS Windows desktop and Microsoft Office is required.
• Strong communication skills and innovative thinking is essential.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Helpdesk: receive tickets, elevate tickets as appropriate, work with clients, and close out tickets.
• Provide end user support (troubleshooting Windows, supporting Microsoft Office issues) for local and remote users.
• Prepare, set up, and coordinate employee equipment.
• Identify areas of operation that require upgraded equipment; schedule and implement upgrades/replacements with System Administrators.
• Participate in testing and evaluation of hardware and software with IT staff and design technology leadership.
• Adapt/modify existing hardware and software to meet specific needs.
• Maintain peripherals (printers).
• Travel may be required.
• May perform other duties as required.
