Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking an IT student/early-career professional for part-time, in-office support in Chicago. You will assist the IT team with helpdesk duties, hardware preparation, and device setup for staff across health, education and business design projects.

The role emphasizes user-friendly problem resolution, strong communication, and the ability to collaborate with IT peers. In-office schedule, with potential travel and ongoing benefit opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience with Windows and Microsoft Office is required.
• Strong communication skills and innovative thinking are essential.
• Ability to work with IT team to resolve software, hardware and network issues.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Helpdesk: receive tickets, elevate tickets as appropriate, and close out tickets.
• Provide end user support (troubleshooting Windows, Microsoft Office issues) for local and remote users.
• Prepare, set up, and coordinate employee equipment.
• Identify areas that require upgraded equipment; schedule and implement upgrades.
• Participate in testing and evaluation of hardware/software with IT staff and design technology leadership.
• Adapt/modify existing hardware and software to meet needs.
• Maintain peripherals (printers).
• Travel may be required.
• May perform other duties as required.
