The University of Massachusetts Amherst Departmental Assistant (Campus Center Warehouse) is a part-time, on-site role based in Amherst. You will handle receipt, storage, and transfer of goods, maintain inventories, and assist with food orders as needed.

The position requires physical stamina, ability to lift up to 75 lbs, and comfort with walk-in freezers. Schedule up to 25 hours per week, with potential nights, weekends and holidays during the 2026–2027 academic year.

Competenze

• Must have a valid Massachusetts Class D driver’s license
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic with speed and accuracy
• Knowledge of storekeeping methods and practices for perishable goods
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English
• Ability to maintain harmonious working relationships
• Must lift up to 75 lbs repeatedly
• Must stand for hours and work in walk-in freezer/cooler
• Must have physical stamina for work in adverse weather conditions

Mansioni

• Unpacks and examines incoming goods for quality, quantity, and condition
• Stores goods, supplies and equipment in appropriate storage containers
• Marks identifying codes on articles and attaches identification tags
• Issues supplies to users per established procedures
• Maintains records of items received, issued and shipped
• Takes physical inventory to reconcile stock records and detect variances
• Loads/unloads items and moves materials using hand trucks
• Operates motor vehicle to make campus deliveries
