Job summary

College of Southern Nevada seeks a Part-Time Instructor for Welding Technology to deliver lectures and hands-on lab sessions at the Henderson Campus. Instructors develop syllabi, align with outcomes, and provide student advisement and ongoing evaluation.

The role requires teaching experience, relevant welding qualifications, and familiarity with Canvas or similar LMS. Courses are offered day, evening, and weekend. Posting indicates adjunct openings as needed.

Qualifications

• 5 years of work-related experience.
• Preferred: CWE, CWI, SCWI, NDT Certifications, NCCER Instructor Credentials, OSHA 10/30.
• Welding Technology degree.
• One year equivalent full time teaching experience.
• Experience working with a diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce.
• Knowledge of computer classroom technologies.
• Knowledge of Canvas or other Learning Management Systems.

• Demonstrate and assist students with lab procedures and ensure adherence to safety precautions
• Develop syllabi and course materials. Instruct students in accordance with curriculum standards and objectives
• Independently evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes
• Make necessary provisions to meet learning needs
• Provide advisement to students
• Attend staff meetings and recruitment activities as requested

Applications will be considered on an as-needed basis determined by course availability.

Required Qualifications

• 5 years of work-related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• CWE, CWI, SCWI, NDT Certifications, NCCER Instructor Credentials, OSHA 10, 30
• Welding Technology degree
• One year equivalent full time teaching experience
• Experience working with a diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce

Schedule

Welding Technology courses are taught at the CSN Henderson Campus, in-person and are scheduled during the day, evenings, and weekends.

Salary Information

$925.00 per lecture credit hour. Credits will vary by semester.
