Job summary

The Instructional Assistant will work under the direction of the special education teacher and principal to support students with disabilities. Responsibilities include assisting during Drama activities before or after school and on weekends during the school year.

The position requires experience with special needs students, a keen interest in working with children, and PA qualifications such as 48 credits or an associate degree, or a state credential.

Qualifications

• The candidate should have experience with students with special needs.
• Must enjoy working with children.
• At least one PA qualification: 2 years post-secondary, an associate degree, or passing a state credential.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with students with special needs is preferred.
• Must enjoy working with children.
• Must be considered highly qualified in the state of PA by completing at least one of the listed requirements below.
• a. Have completed at least 2 years of post-secondary study (48 credits) or
• b. Possess an associated degree or higher or
• c. Meet a rigorous standard of quality as demonstrated through a State or local assessment (Paraeducator Credential of Competence).

Description:
