Job summary

The School District of Springfield Township is seeking a Lunch/Recess Aide to supervise students during lunch periods and recess, ensuring a safe and orderly environment and reinforcing school expectations. The role focuses on student well-being and positive climate outside instructional time.

The position is a 10-month assignment, approximately 2.5 hours per day (10:15am-12:45pm). Experience with students is preferred, and all applicants must support an inclusive school community.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during lunch and recess periods to ensure safety, appropriate behavior, and compliance with school rules.
• Monitor cafeterias, playgrounds, hallways, and other designated areas.
• Assist students as needed with seating, lining up, transitions, and basic needs.
• Enforce school district policies and behavioral expectations consistently and fairly.
• Address minor disciplinary issues and report significant concerns to appropriate school staff.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies, injuries, or conflicts.
• Maintain clear lines of sight and active supervision at all times.
• Communicate respectfully and effectively with students, staff, and administrators.
• Assist with setup and cleanup of lunch or recess areas as assigned.
• Support inclusion and ensure all students are treated with dignity and respect.

Terms of employment

10-month position following the SDST District calendar. Approximately 2.5 hours per day (10:15am-12:45pm). Hours are subject to change based on district needs.
