Job summary

Mesa Public Schools in Mesa, AZ is seeking a part-time paraeducator to provide instructional support to students who are academically disadvantaged in reading, writing, and math under direct supervision.

The role involves working closely with a teacher, assisting with individual or small-group activities, translating when necessary, and participating in professional development to help improve student achievement. A11, 9.25 months, base hourly $16.56.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or 60 college credits OR ParaPro Test completed at hire.
• Ability to work under direct supervision with teachers.
• Bilingual may be preferred at some sites.

Responsibilities

• Work in close proximity with assigned teacher and specific students.
• Assist students, individually or in groups, to reinforce skills.
• Follow written plans to supplement classroom instruction.
• Assist with classroom computer instruction.
• Assist with translation when necessary.
• Participate in professional development to enhance student achievement.
• Participate as a stakeholder in school improvement initiatives.
• Assist with assessment administration and scoring.
• Maintain regular and on-time attendance.
• Support other duties to ensure efficient operations.
