Job summary

Advocate Health Care's Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center Pharmacy team is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Technician to support licensed pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications.

Shifts are 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, 20 hours per week, every other weekend and alternating holidays. The role involves patient data entry, insurance verification, sterile/nonsterile compounding where applicable, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must obtain CPhT or ExCPT within 18 months.
• No prior work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed pharmacist with preparation and distribution of medications.
• Select, prepare, and label medications including hazardous drugs.
• Assist with medication distribution tasks.
• Screen calls and route using proper etiquette.
• Maintain inventory, procurement, and outdate checks.
• Document medication handling for controlled substances as required.
• Perform nonsterile compounding and sterile IV admixture where applicable.
