Job summary

Xanitos, Inc. is hiring a Part-Time Inpatient Patient Sitter for all shifts at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center in Springfield, OR. The role focuses on patient observation and safety under RN supervision, with training provided for BLS/CPR as needed.

Competitive hourly pay and weekend/holiday rotation are included. Responsibilities include constant patient monitoring, bedside presence, and rapid escalation to nursing staff when required, while maintaining professionalism and HIPAA

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR/BLs certification required or training provided.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient visually and audibly at all times as directed by RN and Xanitos Leadership.
• Remain at the bedside unless relieved by staff.
• Redirect patients from at-risk behaviors and complete observation reports.
• Interact with staff, patients and visitors in a professional and supportive manner.
• Immediately summon nursing staff if assistance or interventions are needed; report safety concerns.
• Assist with patient dining, transportation within unit, and positioning as directed.
• Participate in hand-offs and ensure coverage around meal breaks and shift changes.
• Maintain patient room safety and confidentiality in line with HIPAA policies.

Education

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
