Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, WA, seeks a part-time RN - Infusion to join an interdisciplinary care team. You will provide patient-centered nursing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation within the infusion unit.

The role requires WA RN (or MS nursing license), BLS, and oncology infusion experience; ONS chemotherapy provider card within 3 months. We offer prorated PTO and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Washington State RN license or valid NLC multistate license and must upgrade to WA residency within 60 days.
• Oncology experience or oncology training provided.
• Current BLS certification.
• ONS Chemotherapy Provider Card required within 3 months of hire.
• Additional certification may be required by department.
• Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment needed.
• Excellent time management and independent work habits.
• Effective communication and active listening with patients and team.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs.
• Develop and implement plans of care based on disease, symptoms and response to treatment.
• Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment, side effects, and symptom management.
• Coordinate with inter-disciplinary teams for continuity of care.
• Refer to social work, home health care, nutrition, and other resources as needed.
• Administer IV hydration, electrolytes, chemotherapy/biotherapy, and blood products.
• Ensure safe handling of hazardous drugs and proper disposal.
