Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, WA is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse - Infusion (0.75 FTE) to join an interdisciplinary care team. The role focuses on patient-centric care, nursing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the infusion clinic, with responsibilities spanning education, care coordination, and integration of research knowledge into practice.

Prior oncology experience is welcomed and training is provided.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Washington State RN license or Multistate license (MSL) with WA residency within 60 days of hire.
• BLS provider card (renewal every 2 years)
• ONS Chemotherapy Provider Card within 3 months of hire
• Oncology experience is preferred but training is provided

Responsibilities

• Assesses physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs and evaluates patients' adaptation to health changes
• Develops a plan of care based on patients' disease, symptoms, and response to treatment
• Educates patients, families, and caregivers on disease processes, treatment, side effects and symptom management
• Coordinates with inter-disciplinary team to ensure continuity of care
• Refers patients, families and caregivers to other clinical resources as appropriate
• Implements, evaluates and modifies plan of care
• Integrates research and evidence-based knowledge into clinical practice
