Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, WA, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for infusion care in an ambulatory setting. You will educate patients and families, coordinate with a multidisciplinary team, and implement evidence-based infusion therapies.

The role requires WA RN licensure, BLS, and Oncology/chemotherapy training; oncology experience is preferred or provided on the job. This is a full-time, onsite position at the South Lake Union campus, with a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have current Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license or current NLC multistate license (MSL); upgrade to WA within 60 days of hire.
• Oncology experience preferred or will be provided additional training.
• Current BLS card required (renewal every 2 years).
• ONS Chemotherapy Provider Card required within 3 months of hire.
• Time management and prioritization across care teams.
• Effective communication with patients, families, and care teams.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs and plan care.
• Educate patients and families on disease, treatment and side effects.
• Coordinate with inter-disciplinary team for continuity of care.
• Refer to social work, nutrition, home health, and other resources as needed.
• Implement, evaluate and adjust care plans.
• Integrate research and evidence into practice.
• Provide infusion nursing care: administer IV hydration, chemotherapy, biotherapy, blood products.
• Demonstrate safe handling of hazardous drugs and proper disposal.
