Job summary

Dayton Freight Lines is seeking a Human Resources Intern to support HR functions in-person during the school year and summer. You will assist with HR/Benefits tasks, file organization, orientation materials, and employee communications in a professional, people-centered environment.

The internship requires 20–25 hours per week, enrollment in a college/university, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. You will gain hands-on experience through customized training and special projects.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited College/University.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.

Responsibilities

• Print and distribute Orientation and Employee Handbook booklets.
• Handle return-to-sender mail as needed.
• Assist with HR calls and emails.
• Document processes and procedures of job functions.
• Support Employee Relations with reports, meetings, and announcements.
• Contribute to special projects and process improvements.

Responsibilities

As a Human Resources Intern, you will provide support related to various Human Resource functions.

• Assist with HR/Benefits tasks, as assigned
• File and organize the Investigative Files
• Print and distribute Orientation and Employee Handbook booklets, as requested
• Send “Return to Sender” mail to employees via truck mail, as needed
• Assist with HR calls and emails
• Document process and procedures of job functions
• Assist members of the Employee Relations Department with various responsibilities including running and auditing reports, organization, meeting preparation, announcements, etc.
• Work on special projects, as needed
• Continuously look for opportunities to improve processes
