Genoa Charter Township is seeking a part-time Human Resources Specialist to support recruitment, benefits administration, performance evaluations, and staff development. The role requires handling confidential HR processes with professionalism and independent judgment.

The ideal candidate will coordinate with brokers, manage payroll-related inquiries, and assist with labor relations while ensuring compliance with federal and state laws and township policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human resources management, public administration or related field or equivalent HR experience.
• Three years of professional level human resources experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with benefits and retirement brokers to manage health, dental, vision, life, disability, and wellness benefits.
• Coordinate supervisor of workers' compensation claims and payroll support.
• Design, implement, and coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes for township staff.
• Conduct salary and benefit surveys, job evaluations, and class/spec development.
• Assist in recruitment, screening, and selection of applicants in compliance with laws and township policies.
• Prepare and present HR program proposals and cost analyses to the Township Board.
• Monitor and analyze legislation impacting township operations and programs.
• Provide information and assistance on HR programs to employees and external stakeholders.
