Job summary

ADP, Inc. seeks a hands-on Part-Time HR Manager in Syosset, NY. The role owns day-to-day HR operations, liaises with our payroll provider, and drives manager development and employee engagement.

It's a part-time, on-site position reporting to the CFO, with responsibility across multi-entity payroll and NY employment compliance. The ideal candidate has 5–8 years in HR, experience with payroll vendors, and strong training and coaching abilities.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years HR generalist or HR manager experience; real estate, construction, or multi-site/multi-entity background a strong plus
• Hands-on experience coordinating with an outside payroll vendor (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Gusto or similar)
• Proven ability to facilitate manager training and team-building programs, not just design them
• Experience running performance management cycles: goal setting, reviews, promotions and compensation decisions
• Strong knowledge of New York State employment law and multi-entity compliance
• Comfortable as a department of one—self-directed, organized, and practical
• PHR, SHRM-CP or equivalent a plus but not required
• Proficiency in HRIS and payroll platforms
• Excellent communication and organization skills; proficient with Microsoft Office
• Available as needed during off-days

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR contact for payroll coordination with our outside provider and multi-entity payroll setup
• Oversee day-to-day HR operations and onboarding/offboarding end-to-end
• Coordinate performance management cycles, reviews, and compensation discussions with leadership
• Develop and deliver manager training on performance conversations and legal compliance
• Support recruitment activities and candidate screening as needed
• Foster engagement initiatives and a cohesive NY Metro office culture across sites
