Job summary

Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD) is seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead all HR-related functions across assigned districts. The role reports to the Executive Director for Human Resources and coordinates services and projects in partnership with district leadership.

The position requires a Master’s in HR or related field and at least five years of HR experience, with strong emphasis on hiring, compliance, and staff development. Michigan certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in human resources, organizational development, business administration, management, or related field required.
• Five years of HR-related experience required; recent HR department experience preferred.
• Experience coordinating day-to-day HR functions for multiple districts.
• Overseeing recruitment, postings, applicant tracking, substitutes, and hard-to-fill roles.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage HR functions for assigned districts.
• Oversee recruitment and hiring processes and programs.
• Ensure HR practices comply with policies, guidelines, contracts and regulations.
• Conduct criminal record reviews and support hiring decisions; serve as Title IX Coordinator.
• Coordinate employee training, professional development, and substitute orientation.
