Job summary

Spectrum Retirement Communities in Libertyville, IL is seeking a part-time cook to prepare high-quality meals in line with recipes and dietary orders, under the supervision of the Director of Food & Beverage.

You will collaborate with the Director of Food & Beverage and the Sous Chef to manage food and supply needs, ensure proper storage, and maintain inventories. Experience in hotel/restaurant kitchens and strong customer service are preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in all stations of a hotel kitchen, restaurant, or similar operation.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling standards.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work cohesively with the restaurant team.
• Self-motivated, organized, and professional; able to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
• Strong customer service skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality food following standard recipes and special diet orders.
• Assist with food and supply management, including securing items for prep, storing leftovers, and maintaining inventories.
