Job summary

HEI Hotels and Resorts is seeking a part-time Cook for the Westin Pasadena on-site in Pasadena, CA. You will prepare food to standard recipes, help set up for service, and assist in maintaining quality and efficiency across the kitchen station.

Ideal candidates have hotel kitchen experience, are dexterous with food machinery, and can lift up to 100 lbs. Strong communication is required to coordinate with servers and supervisors.

Qualifications

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Dexterity to operate food machinery and lift up to 100 lbs.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food to a consistent quality following recipes and standards.
• Start items ahead of time and manage prep to avoid over- or under-portioning.
• Date and rotate perishables and store properly per HEI standards.
• Set up plans to correct food cost problems and reduce waste.
• Operate and clean kitchen equipment (fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, mixer, slicer, ovens).
