Job summary

The Westin Pasadena, managed by HEI Hotels & Resorts, is hiring a cook to prepare food to consistent quality and assist in kitchen functions near Historic Old Town Pasadena.

You will follow recipes, manage time, rotate perishables, check stock, and maintain safety and cleanliness while supporting a busy service. Prior hotel kitchen experience and reliable attendance are valued; they offer benefits and advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Dexterity to operate food machinery with or without accommodation.
• Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry up to 100 lbs scheduled.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and standards.
• Start items prepared ahead of time without over preparing.
• Date and rotate perishables; keep temperatures proper.
• Check pars, determine preparation needs, and restock as needed.
• Return unused items to storage, cover and date perishables.
• Assist in controlling food cost, waste, and usage per standards.
• Operate and clean all kitchen equipment.
• Be dependable and available to work on a regular basis.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
