Job summary

Oregon Coast Community Action is seeking a Classroom Assistant for the South Coast Head Start program in Coos Bay, OR. The role supports the teaching team to deliver high-quality child and family services with emphasis on safety, health, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.

The position is part-time and extended, starting at $15.20 hourly, DOE. You will assist with classroom activities, health checks, and family engagement under supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Infant/Toddler CDA credential or Preschool CDA credential is preferred.
• Oregon Registry Step 7 or higher is preferred.
• If hired, enrolled in CDA program to complete within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Assist Teaching Team to provide quality classroom experiences.
• Promote children's growth with developmentally appropriate activities.
• Maintain safety and health practices in line with policies.
• Assist with health checks, diapering, and meal supervision as needed.
• Ensure proper sign-in/out and supervision of children at all times.
• Collaborate with team and families to support learning goals.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

CDA credential (Infant/Toddler) or Preschool CDA credential

Oregon Registry Step 7 or higher

Enrolled in CDA program to complete within 2 years
