Job summary

Oregon Coast Community Action seeks a Classroom Assistant in Brookings, OR to support the South Coast Head Start program. The role reports to the Teacher/Advocate and offers health and safety focused responsibilities within a dynamic early childhood team.

Responsibilities include assisting the teaching team, maintaining classroom safety, and documenting services while engaging families and supporting developmental goals in line with Head Start standards.

Qualifications

• Infant/Toddler CDA credential or enrollment.
• Oregon Registry Step 7 or higher.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Enrolled in CDA/AA program with plan to reach Oregon Registry Step 7 within 2 years.
• Paid experience with infants/toddlers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote children’s growth through responsive care and organized learning.
• Maintain safety and health practices in classrooms.
• Assist teaching team and support the classroom in coverage.
• Document services in appropriate data base systems.
• Ensure health & safety policies are followed and reviewed.
