Job summary

The Washington National Cathedral seeks a friendly, energetic Guest Services Associate for part-time shifts, primarily at the main entry points during sightseeing hours, events and worship services.

You will handle admissions, tickets, donations, retail items, and tours, greet visitors, assist with wayfinding, and support front-of-house during programs. Flexible weekends, evenings, and holidays required; starting wage $22/hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of customer service experience.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Two years’ customer service experience preferred in a high volume, visitor-friendly atmosphere.
• Open availability incl. nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Process transactions at the welcome desk, including admissions, donations, memberships and tickets.
• Sell tickets and scan print-at-home tickets for Cathedral admissions and tours.
• Manage register transactions and end-of-shift tills.
• Answer visitor questions and assist with wayfinding.
• Issue audio tours and printed materials as needed.
• Greet bus groups and direct group leaders.
• Provide guided tours for bus groups and individuals.
• Support front-of-house during events and monitor doors.
