Job summary

Griffin Museum of Science and Industry is seeking a Guest Engagement Facilitator for a part-time, on-site role. You will deliver world-class guest programming through group tours, live demonstrations, and interactive experiences for visitors of all ages.

The position requires three full days per week, Tuesday availability, and at least one weekend day plus some evenings for events. Union representation (AFSCME Council 31) is provided and perks include free admission and parking.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; two years of related guest-facing experience preferred.
• Associates degree or higher is a plus.
• Strong public speaking and guest-service skills are essential.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and pace in a busy environment.
• Comfort with learning new software and hardware for guest needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver programming across museum spaces to engage and inspire guests.
• Encourage guest participation and create personalized experiences.
• Lead discussions using conversational educational approaches.
• Adapt engagement to diverse audiences and age groups.
• Handle wayfinding, check-in, and basic guest services.
• Collaborate with the Guest Operations Team to ensure smooth tours and experiences.
• Maintain a positive, professional demeanor with guests and staff.
• Participate in coaching and development activities for program goals.
