Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a part-time Maintenance Technician I - Groundskeeper at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, IL. The role requires basic maintenance skills and the ability to operate CMMS for work orders.

You will handle grounds tasks, equipment upkeep, and assist during snow events as part of the snow team. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a driver’s license, and less than 2 years of equipment maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills including CMMS and building automation systems.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Driver's license required.
• Less than 2 years’ experience in equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Performs facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with codes and standards.
• Documents work using the CMMS.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment (motors, pumps, doors, fans, boilers, etc.).
• Maintain patient care equipment (beds, wheelchairs, carts, tables).
• Maintain mechanical/electrical systems (HVAC, refrigerations, gas systems) with guidance.
• Perform routine general maintenance including grounds, carpentry, painting, and snow removal.
• Respond to emergencies (leaks, floods, fires, power outages) as directed.
• Read blueprints and maintenance manuals for assignments.
