Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a Maintenance Technician I - Groundskeeper for Good Shepherd hospital in Barrington, IL. This part-time, 20-hour-per-week, first-shift role focuses on facility and equipment maintenance, preventive checks, and timely response to issues in a healthcare setting.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and basic computer skills. Candidates should have less than two years in equipment maintenance and be able to lift and maneuver

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Less than 2 years in equipment maintenance preferred.
• Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Performs facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with codes and standards.
• Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs mechanical equipment (motors, pumps, conveyors, doors, fans, boilers, controls).
• Maintains patient care equipment where not serviced by other departments.
• Maintains mechanical/electrical systems (HVAC, refrigerators, ice machines, etc.) under guidance.
• Performs general maintenance (grounds, carpentry, painting, snow removal).
• Responds to emergencies (leaks, floods, power outages, etc.) and keeps occupants informed.
