Job summary

NorthStar Memorial Group is seeking a compassionate individual for the part-time Staff Associate role at Skylawn Funeral Home in Half Moon Bay, CA. You will interact with client families during their time of need and help with viewings, services and related funeral operations.

Responsibilities include assisting funeral directors, welcoming families, moving caskets, transporting flowers and urns, arranging venues, and ensuring cleanup after services. Evening and weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
• Attentive listener with ability to engage diverse client families.
• Compassionate approach to funeral services.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Must have a valid CA driver's license.
• Funeral service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support funeral directors by assisting with tasks to ensure smooth services.
• Welcome and engage client families and guests with warmth and professionalism.
• Aid in moving the casketed deceased and related items within the funeral home and service locations.
• Handle transportation and delivery of flowers, caskets, urns, photos, and mementos.
• Prepare and arrange chapel or service venue, ensuring setup and post-service cleanup.
• Operate funeral-related vehicles, including hearses, for processions and events.
