BJB Properties is seeking a part-time Front Desk/Doorperson to support multiple residential properties in Chicago. Duties include greeting residents, monitoring security, handling packages, and answering calls for emergencies.

Shifts include evenings and weekend coverage; ideal candidates have strong customer service, English literacy, and reliability. Pay is $22.50 per hour; benefits for part-time role do not apply.

Qualifications

• Experience as a doorperson or front desk role in residential buildings.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Able to read/write English clearly.
• Computer literate; basic typing and email usage.
• Punctual and reliable; energy and responsiveness.

Responsibilities

• Greet residents and visitors; screen and announce guests; enforce security.
• Monitor lobby and doors to minimize loitering and ensure safety.
• Receive, sort, and distribute packages to residents.
• Answer phones for location and emergency desk; route as needed.
• Dispatch calls to maintenance or property managers during emergencies.
• Enter information into building systems (work orders, etc.).
• Keep work area clean and presentable at all times.
• Check common area doors and emergency exits for secure closure.
• Get to know residents to foster a positive living experience.
• Manage key control and sign-out keys for staff; coordinate lockouts.
