Job summary

McCoy’s Building Supply in Alpine, TX is seeking a Part-time Yard Crewmember to assist customers in the lumberyard, operate a forklift, stock materials, and provide general store support.

You will greet customers, load and unload products, answer questions, perform safety checks, and help maintain clean yards and warehouses. Forklift certification is required or obtained through on-site training.

This role may require overtime, nights, weekends, and work in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Forklift operator certification preferred.
• On-the-job training completion; forklift and equipment safety training required.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers as they enter the yard.
• Loads and unloads products safely.
• Responds to customer questions about products.
• Informs management of customer complaints promptly.
• Moves, stocks, and rearranges materials in yard and store.
• Performs routine forklift safety checks.
• Keeps lumberyard and warehouses clean and organized.
• Verifies tickets match loaded merchandise.
• Covers exposed materials to prevent weather damage.
• Cuts lumber and related materials as requested.
• Operates a forklift.
• Attends store meetings and trainings.
• Performs other related duties.
