Job summary

McCoy’s Building Supply in Alpine, TX is hiring a Part-Time Yard Crewmember to assist customers in the lumberyard, operate a forklift, stock products and provide general store support.

You will greet customers, help load and unload, respond to questions, perform safety checks, and keep the lumberyard clean, stacked, and safe. Forklift certification and a high school diploma are preferred, with overtime and weekend hours possible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required/preferred.
• Forklift operator certification required.
• Successful completion of on‑the‑job training and forklift certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers as they enter the yard.
• Loads and unloads products safely and accurately.
• Responds to customer questions about products.
• Reports customer requests or complaints promptly.
• Moves, stocks, and rearranges materials in yard and warehouse.
• Performs routine forklift safety checks.
• Keeps lumberyard and warehouses clean and organized.
• Verifies tickets match merchandise loaded.
• Covers exposed materials to prevent weather damage.
• Cuts lumber and related materials as requested.
• Operates a forklift.
• Attends store meetings and training sessions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
