Job summary

Sacred Heart Retreat House in Los Angeles area is seeking a part-time Food Service Worker/Logistics Assistant to support kitchen operations and meal logistics. You will help with cleaning, food prep, dishwashing, and coordination with the dietary team to meet dietary needs.

Hours are Thursday–Sunday 7am–11am; non-exempt, part-time, in a faith-based retreat setting. Requires high school diploma and ServSafe within 30 days, with a strong emphasis on teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a food service or dietary role is preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Servesafe certificate required within 30 days of time of hire.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassion and patience when dealing with guests.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, including walk-in refrigerator/freezer, and pantry according to FIFO.
• Load or unload trucks delivering or picking up food and supplies.
• Assist with meal preparation and serving, in coordination with cooks.
• Ensure dietary needs are met and communicate with the dietary team.
• Follow sanitation procedures and safety guidelines.
• Assist with event setups and cross-functional duties as needed.
